Summary

My first Christie read as an adult。 (I only read And Then There Were None as a teenager。) I enjoyed Poirot and the mystery novel。Christie is queen for a reason。 Not only is her story good, I felt the characters were also well written。 The approach was good。 She gave us enough but not too much, and I never had to facepalm because of the writing。 I liked the nursery rhyme incorporation。 I know some people don't, but why not have an angle when you are mass producing books? It was a well done mystery My first Christie read as an adult。 (I only read And Then There Were None as a teenager。) I enjoyed Poirot and the mystery novel。Christie is queen for a reason。 Not only is her story good, I felt the characters were also well written。 The approach was good。 She gave us enough but not too much, and I never had to facepalm because of the writing。 I liked the nursery rhyme incorporation。 I know some people don't, but why not have an angle when you are mass producing books? It was a well done mystery。 An easy, well written read。 I can be entertained and not have to think too hard。Favorite quote:"The best thing for a child, I am convinced, is to have what I should term healthy neglect on the part of both its parents。 This happens naturally enough in the case of a large family of children and very little money。 They are overlooked because the mother has literally no time to occupy herself with them。 They realize quite well that she is fond of them, but they are not worried by too many manifestations of the fact。"Such a gem buried in that novel! I recommend this book as an enjoyable (light?) murder mystery Agatha Christie read。 。。。more

Hercule Poirot is recruited to solve a murder, 16 years after the case was closed。 He does so in his preferred manner- observing the psychologies of the people involved。 I really enjoyed this one。 It's now one of my favorites。 Hercule Poirot is recruited to solve a murder, 16 years after the case was closed。 He does so in his preferred manner- observing the psychologies of the people involved。 I really enjoyed this one。 It's now one of my favorites。 。。。more

“A case of murder is a case of murder whether it happened yesterday or sixteen years ago”If you love Agatha Christie’s novels, this is definitely a murder mystery you shouldn’t miss。 “Five Little Pig” is a Hercule Poirot novel by Agatha Christie and was first published in the year 1942。 The Plot:On her 21st birthday, Carla Lemarchant came in possession of a letter left by her mother。 Her mother, Caroline Crale was convicted for murder of Carla's father who was a renowned artist。 Caroline Crale w “A case of murder is a case of murder whether it happened yesterday or sixteen years ago”If you love Agatha Christie’s novels, this is definitely a murder mystery you shouldn’t miss。 “Five Little Pig” is a Hercule Poirot novel by Agatha Christie and was first published in the year 1942。 The Plot:On her 21st birthday, Carla Lemarchant came in possession of a letter left by her mother。 Her mother, Caroline Crale was convicted for murder of Carla's father who was a renowned artist。 Caroline Crale wrote the letter to her daughter before dying in prison, and claims to be innocent。 The story starts off with Carla Lemarchant asking Hercule Poirot (a fictional Belgian detective who appears in several of Agatha Christie’s novels) his service in proving the innocence of her mother in order to grant a posthumous free pardon to Caroline Crale on the sixteen years old murder case of Amyas Crale, Caroline's husband。 All the evidence, however, points towards Caroline Crale。Poirot proceeds to interview everyone associated with the case, including the five witnesses (his suspects) and obtains narratives from them。 Poirot compares the five suspects to five little pigs of the nursery rhyme “This Little Pig”。 Although there is little to no evidence left to investigate, Poirot believes that psychology and emotions can be used to redraw and investigate the circumstance and motivation behind murder。 The plot is such that it casts suspicion on everyone and heightens the suspense to an extent where it becomes impossible to keep the book down。。!Absolutely loved reading it and would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a quick yet psychological murder mystery read…! 。。。more

<4> Amyas Crale, Caroline Crale, Philip Blake, Meredith Blake, miss Williams, Angela Warren, Elsa Greer, Hercule M PoirotOk so the first like 30 to 40 percent of this book was hella boring。 It took me like 4 days just to read that much。 But after that it got pretty interesting and the end。。。。 damn idk what to say。 I loved the twists and that I was actually trying to solve it on my own。 I will say the motive was very unexpected。 I did not and would not have guessed it。

Somehow I had missed out on ever reading this Hercule Poirot story。 This is, in effect, a cold-case mystery。 A young woman, Carla Lemarchant, who is about to marry comes to Poirot to ask him to investigate the long-ago murder of her father, painter Amyas Crale, for which her mother, Caroline Crale, was convicted。 Before her death in prison, her mother had written a letter to Carla, to be opened when she reached 21, which told Carla that Caroline hadn’t killed Amyas。Carla has the odd idea that he Somehow I had missed out on ever reading this Hercule Poirot story。 This is, in effect, a cold-case mystery。 A young woman, Carla Lemarchant, who is about to marry comes to Poirot to ask him to investigate the long-ago murder of her father, painter Amyas Crale, for which her mother, Caroline Crale, was convicted。 Before her death in prison, her mother had written a letter to Carla, to be opened when she reached 21, which told Carla that Caroline hadn’t killed Amyas。Carla has the odd idea that her fiancé won’t marry her if he learns that her mother was a murderer, which is why she asks Poirot to find out if Amyas killed himself, as Caroline told the police must have happened, or if someone else is responsible。 If someone else, it must be one of the five people present on a late summer weekend: Amyas’s best friend Philip Blake, Philip’s brother Meredith Blake, Caroline’s teenage half-sister Angela Warren, Angel’s governess Cecilia Williams, and Elsa Greer, the young woman posing for Amyas and intending to steal him away from Caroline。Poirot interviews each of the “five little pigs,” and then asks each to write a description of all they remember from the fateful weekend。 From these reports, Poirot deduces what happened and gathers all together to reveal his analysis。Christie cleverly sets up motives and opportunities for each suspect, persuades readers to home in on one in particular, then deftly pulls the rug out from under us。 A very satisfying whodunnit, only slightly marred by some antiquated references about male/female roles。 。。。more

I’m officially reading the Poirot books out of order due to the fact that I have run out of Audible credits and am relying on availability through the public library。 The only real downside to this is that I don’t get to see how the writing style and storytelling might slowly change and evolve。 But oh well! Was a fun read for a long flight journey – the novel is along the lines of The Nursery Rhyme Murders: 3 Complete Mystery Novels。 A young woman approaches Hercule Poirot to open up a murder case that happened 16 years that involved her mother Caroline Crale murdering her father, Amyas Crale。 However, her mother has claimed her innocence in a letter that she wrote before her death。 Since the incident happened and was closed 16 years, the possibility of finding any clues of the murder is less。 Henc Was a fun read for a long flight journey – the novel is along the lines of The Nursery Rhyme Murders: 3 Complete Mystery Novels。 A young woman approaches Hercule Poirot to open up a murder case that happened 16 years that involved her mother Caroline Crale murdering her father, Amyas Crale。 However, her mother has claimed her innocence in a letter that she wrote before her death。 Since the incident happened and was closed 16 years, the possibility of finding any clues of the murder is less。 Hence, Poirot approaches five people (five little pigs) who were close to Amyas to know their version of the incident – to find the actual murderer。 It was engaging and Christie did a good job of making us believe each of 5 people to be the murderer at different points but never giving much hint on the actual murderer till the very end。 。。。more

I definitely thought I had the killer found out and I definitely missed。 Agatha Christie tells the story of master detective Hercule Poirot back to solve a considerably cold case。 While it might have stretched believability with the suspects' recollections of a 16 year old murder, I found the mystery quite enjoyable。 Another classic Christie whodunit。 I definitely thought I had the killer found out and I definitely missed。 Agatha Christie tells the story of master detective Hercule Poirot back to solve a considerably cold case。 While it might have stretched believability with the suspects' recollections of a 16 year old murder, I found the mystery quite enjoyable。 Another classic Christie whodunit。 。。。more
